Monday May 28, 2012: Hermana Bowles

Hola Familia:

Gozocitos  (little joys) of the week included both me and Hna. Rodriguez forgetting our plaques on multiple occassions and running back to the house, watching my hijita get majorly sick for the first time off of something we ate and having to leave her in the house for divisions (don`t worry we both took sporade and pepto bismol, had a blessing, couple bathroom runs, one day and we are fine), buying TONS of fruit en el mercado, and having  four investigators come to church J
Loves from a million miles away.   Give a hug and kiss to Grandma and Grandpa for me, too.
Last noticias del Mayo aquí en Moyo.   Tan rapido pasa el tiempo!
Had a neat service opportunity Wednesday morning.   Dear sweet convert Enith Rucoba was finishing a room that they just added in her house.   They had the stick framing up and the pile of dirt ready to go and so we came to pack in the mud around the sticks.  I don`t know--I thought it would be this little easy service, but luckily Hna. Rodriguez and I wore our boots because wow it was muddy.   We might have gotten a LITTLE bit dirty J but it was so worth it.   Finished the mud walls and her new room is officially finished.   We all joked that we hadn`t planned on going to a spa and getting skin exfoliation treatments, but it felt a little like that Wednesday morning.
Lourdes is still progressing and excited for her baptism on the 9th.   She was really strong this week as some people began saying some ugly things to her about the church and her baptism.   Luckily, she loves to read the Book of Mormon and she is being strong.
We`ve talked a lot in our zone lately about how to help people come to church.   In District Meeting on Tuesday the district and zone leaders showed a neat way to teach using 1 Nefi 16 and how Nefi obtained food for his family.   It`s a chapter that a lot of people can identify with here because of their jobs, and chacras (farms), and spots en el mercado and everything.   It helps them recognize that the gospel requires sacrifice up to the top of the mountain but when we go to church on Sunday we have the Lord`s promise of spiritual and temporal food.   Working on Sundays they can only gain one but following the commandments is a win win situation. J
Love always,
Hermana Bowles
